The historic 12th century building was the property of the Peyré (altered to Peyrer by Jean-Armand du Peyrer) family during the period of the musketeers and the family’s coat of arms is in evidence throughout. The historic mullioned windows are also characteristic of Henri de Navarre’s, later Henry IV, château in Pau. Indeed all the original features including the oak panelling, large stone fireplaces have been lovingly maintained by the present owners.
